ABOUT THE BOOK

The book aims to encapsulate the global scientific validations of Yoga, to satisfy the intellectual curiosity of both the young and the old. The current pandemic Covid-19, has caused havoc in the lives of people, across continents. The selfless frontline workers, the dedicated healthcare workers across a vast array of industries, vulnerable populations and the people at large, from various walks of life are experiencing various physical and mental health issues, including severe and unbearable, respiratory problems. In such a scenario, if we want to sail through, with minimum impact to our lives, it is essential to minimize newsfeeds and screen time and simultaneously find some time for a physical activity like Yoga,

Yoga, undoubtedly harmonises the mind, body and soul and works miraculously, both as a palliative and as a precautionary form of healthcare in all situations. Even more important is the fact, that Yoga greatly enhances immunity and the Yoga asanas and pranayamas have enormous capacity to keep our lungs strong and healthy. Yogic meditation has the potential to reduce anxiety and keep the person mentally fit. Yet many people do not practice Yoga, because they are convinced that the claims made by our yogis of yesteryears, about the tremendous potential of Yoga, are anecdotal and not based on genuine scientific evidence. The intersection of various sciences, like neuroscience and Yoga, demonstrate scientifically, the phenomenal changes that take place in our body by doing Yoga. Researchers have established, that a 50-year-old person, can have a brain as active and alert as that of a 25-year-old person. Rigorous research by the best scientists of the world, including Nobel prize winners, reveals how Yoga can strengthen our chromosomes and slow down the ageing process. The book discusses many more significant benefits of Yoga, for which irrefutable evidence has been provided by scientists.
